Digital Foundry - Ghostwire: Tokyo - Xbox Tech Review - No Improvement on PS5, Worse on Xbox Series X/S

Watch Digital Foundry Video: Digital Foundry - Ghostwire: Tokyo - Xbox Tech Review - No Improvement on PS5, Worse on Xbox Series X/S.
Ghostwire: Tokyo is an attractive game with plenty going for it, marred by poor controller response and sub-par performance. This was the state of the game on PlayStation 5 when it launched last year and there's been no improvement since then. And, unfortunately, the game is either on par or worse on Xbox Series consoles. Oliver Mackenzie reports.

The Yakuza franchise has evolved - not just in terms of its name but also its key technology. The complete tech breakdown of developer Omega Force's new action RPG. Built on its proprietary Katana Engine, the team focuses only on newer PS5, Series X and S consoles and PC here. The result? A game with incredible visual ambition - and clearly with a debt owed to the Monster Hunter template. But technical issues, such as bugs, frame-rate drops, and hitches on PC make Wild Hearts a less assured recommendation. Join the DF Supporter Program for pri

Lambasted at launch owing to its various tech problems - along with unflattering comparisons against Arkham Knight - Warner Bros' Gotham Knights didn't fare too well in the DF Tech Review. However, let's give credit where it's due. All versions of the game have been overhauled and there's a night and day improvement in the game up against the launch code. We don't often do re-reviews - we just don't have the time - but in the case of Gotham Knights, i

A comprehensive tech review of all every console to receive a Wo Long release. The PS5 and Xbox Series X versions get the premium treatment here: running at up to 1440p at 60 frames per second with boosted visuals. The same however cannot be said of the Series S, which targets 60fps but with glaring cutbacks to its visuals - often putting its textures and effects in line with a last-gen experience. Aside from the main experience, the Xbox launch of Ghostwire: Tokyo coincides with an update across all platforms entitled the Spider’s Thread. While there are many details and quality-of-life fixes in the main storyline from the original release, the biggest addition comes in the form of a roguelite gauntlet. It pits KK and Akito in an alternate dimension where they run a gamut of 30 “floors” or areas where you must complete objectives in order to pr
